The BI & Reporting Developer will leverage their in-depth knowledge and understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence to deliver throughout the development life cycle. What’s it like working as a BI & Reporting Developer at Questrade? As a BI & Reporting Developer, your expertise will be required to solve reporting and data analytic issues, while supporting multiple business units with operational reporting requests. You will create, support, and maintain Questrade’s ongoing operational, managerial, and executive reporting and develop Reporting Service and Excel based solutions to manage their daily delivery. You will oversee the delivery of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports and some ad hoc ones too, with no compromise on accuracy and compliance. You will extract data and analyze the activities of the brokerage business and be able to answer user questions regarding report interpretation and information sources. You will support our value of continuous improvement through your analysis by developing innovative prototypes to improve the current processes. You will streamline data flow and quality processes to improve their accuracy, viability and value, as well as work with operational managers to understand trends and make recommendations. You will gather, document and analyze requirements from stakeholders for new and existing reports. You will plan and manage timelines for deliverables, generate work breakdown structures and prioritize accordingly. You will maintain a reporting infrastructure and performance reporting process within the high-growth financial services environment that we operate in. You will develop corporate standards for data and information display across reports and dashboards for consistency and ease of analysis. You will lead efforts to introduce a business intelligence architecture that enables fact-based decision-making, ad-hoc analysis and insight generation. You will also design the conceptual, logical and physical data models necessary to support new reporting and data analysis. So are YOU our next BI & Reporting Developer? You are if… Your post-secondary education in economics, finance, math, statistics or computer science takes your number-crunching abilities to the next level. You’re highly proficient with generating reports using SQL Server 2012/2014, including an understanding of SSRS, SSIS, queries, stored procedures, and functions with SQL and T-SQL. You can create and deliver reports from large relational database systems with your strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling concepts. You understand of MS Reporting Services performance-tuning and technology, as well as data management used for collecting, storing and retrieving data. Having worked in a related field for 3+ years, you are skilled at managing timelines, creating work breakdown structures, project management, facilitating meetings, and gathering and documenting requirements. You have superior communication skills, including writing, editing, and process documentation, and you’re comfortable interacting with all levels of management. You pride yourself in your ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and changing priorities, while following through to completion. You have a passion for quality and pay close attention to smaller details, while keeping the big picture in view. Your leadership skills are always in development and you can provide mentorship and guidance for junior team members. You independently solve problems and make decisions.
