Communicating Social Science Research

Even though the social science research plays an important role in our contemporary society, the impact of social science has been under-estimated and under-researched. Considering that social science research in Albania, but not only, faces cumbersome challenges from low research funding to struggles to keep up with contemporary methodology and instruments of research; little attention has been devoted to the impact of social science research. Attempts are being made towards the enhancement of the salience of social science research in public policy, business sector and civil society. In this sense communicating social science research to diverse publics is a crucial issue.

The upcoming issue of Polis, as a leading journal of social science in Albania, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education at the European University of Tirana, is going to focus on Communicating Social Science Research to various publics. The purpose for this number is to open a discussion between researchers on the status and impact of the social science research in Albania and Polis is inviting papers for the upcoming issue of the journal from a broad array of fields such as sociology, political science, anthropology, communication studies, public relations, media studies, cultural studies, development studies, education, ethics, history, international relations, linguistics, methodology, philosophy, psychology, public administration, social welfare, literature, religious studies, visual arts, women studies and so on.

Polis is published in both print and online versions.

The journal publishes original papers, review papers, case studies, empirical research, essays and book reviews. The deadline for the upcoming issue of the journal is by September 30, 2016.
