The Department of Informatics at the Ionian University in Corfu (http://di.ionio.gr) is currently looking for one Postdoc research position and two Ph.D. funded student positions. The candidates will work with Prof. Katia Kermanidis (http://www.ionio.gr/~kerman) and Prof. Dimitris Tsoumakos (http://www.ionio.gr/~dtsouma) and will be funded by the H2020 TraMOOC (Translation for Massive Open Online Courses) project (Feb 2015), which concentrates on the high-quality automatic translation of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) content from English into 11 European and BRIC languages. The research areas of the positions focus on: Machine Translation Natural Language Processing Data and Text Mining Machine Learning Software Development Crowdsourcing HITS design and development for NLP tasks Web applications Databases The call is open until all positions are successfully filled. Candidates will be evaluated according to their previous work and research experience in the aforementioned fields, their previous experience in participating in R&D projects, their skills, motivation and cv profile. The positions are available immediately.
