The Department of Political Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tirana, organizes the International Scientific Conference: “ALBANIA AND ITALY IN CONTEMPORARY STUDIES” Date: 11 June 2015 Venue: Aula Magna, Faculty of Social Sciences, UT Language: English, Italian and Albanian In the last twenty years, many analysis and studies has been focused on Albania and Italy bilateral relations or in a comparative view, highlighting the common and different aspects of two realities in the neighboring. The studies and analysis has been intensified in the last twenty years, as a natural result of an increased interaction and interest from the Albanian and Italian scholars. Although, many studies and analyses have not been published or presented in a symposium or Scientific Conference. On this purpose, the community of Albanian students in Italy is highly recommended in this Conference. Keynote speakers: Prof. Antonello Biagini (Università di Roma La Sapienza) Prof.ssa Ariane Landuyt (Jean Monnet Chair, Università degli Studi di Siena) The Conference has the aim to become a round table and a place of meeting of scholars and experts, which will bring together some relevant studies on Albanian and Italian matters and on the relations between the two countries, in the past, present or future forecasts. The main topics of discussion in this conference are, but not limited to: - Contemporary History: Albania and Italy in the contemporary history. - International Relations: Treaties, alliances or diplomatic relations between Albania and Italy, or which has characterized the two countries. - Geopolitics and Geo-economics of Albania and Italy, the differences and similarities in the context of the interdependent globalized reality. - European Integration: The relations between Albania and Italy in the context of European Integration. The relations between European Union and western Balkans from Italian and Albanian perspective. - Juridical Legislation: The cooperation in national and international level in judiciary system between Albania and Italy and their position in European and International Law. - Political Philosophy: Ideas or political theories that have characterized Albania or Italy in a comparative view. - Anthropological and cultural studies: Two countries and such a long experience together through history, influencing one another in evident and hidden ways.
