European Summer School on “Prejudice, Genocide, Remembrance” Budapest, 5 – 10 July 2015 The Tom Lantos Institute (Budapest), the Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Education and Psychology (Budapest), and CEJI – A Jewish Contribution to an Inclusive Europe (Brussels) are organising the second European Summer School, on “Prejudice, Genocide, Remembrance” for 25 civil servants, educators, journalists, Churches and civil society representatives from the Council of Europe member countries. The Summer School employs a multidisciplinary approach that complements Holocaust education with human rights training. Furthermore, the training situates prejudice and genocide in the context of human rights and democratic values. Trainings and lectures include: · Prejudice, group-focused enmity, scapegoating; · The Holocaust, the Roma genocide, Roma literature on the Holocaust; · Countering anti-tsiganism; · Memory and memorials, competitive victimhood; · Reconciliation models, transitional justice; · Holocaust education; · Human rights; minority rights; · Freedom of speech and the media; · Young people and the far-right; countering the far-right.
