23:24 Summer school, Federalism, Multinationalism and the Future of Europe | |
This year's summer school on Federalism, Multinationalism and the Future of Europe will take place at Canterbury Christ Church University in the UK from 8th until 15 August 2015. Our academic programme brings together leading experts from all over the world to discuss different topics in the field of federalism and Multinationalism. Some of the confirmed speakers include: * Prof Dr Michael Burgess , emeritus professor for federal studies at the University of Kent, who will speak on 'Federalism and the EU'. * Prof Dr Jens Woelk (Tbc) , University of Trento (Italy), who will speak on 'Federalism and Italy – The South Tyrol Question'. * Dr Sean Mueller , University of Berne (Switzerland), who will speak on 'Federalism and Secession'. * Mr Frederic Lepine , Centre International de Formation Europeene (France), who will speak on 'Federalism as an Ideology'. * Dr David Bates , Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), who will speak on 'Federalism and Anarchy'. * Mr Simon Bransden , CCCU, who will speak on 'Comparing Federal Systems –USA, Canada and the EU'. * Ms Anastasiia Kudlenko , CCCU, who will speak on 'Federalism in Ukraine – pre-conflict perspectives and post-conflict options'. * Dr Soeren Keil , CCCU, who will speak on 'Federalism as a tool of conflict resolution, evidence from Bosnia, Iraq and Cyprus'. The costs for accommodation, hospitality and tuition are £300.00 per student . This includes a substantial scholarship for each student accepted, as the normal costs are close to £1,000.00. We are unable to provide any further scholarships or financial reductions. Full payment has to be made beforehand to the University, and no unconditional offer will be provided unless payment has been received. Please note, we are unable to accept cash payments on arrival and bank transactions from non-British bank accounts should make sure that the full sum is transferred to Canterbury Christ Church University. Students will be notified once payment has been received. We are unable to cover any travel costs or help with Visa Fees, we will however happily provide an invitation letter if you require a visa to come to the UK.
