The International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS) is herewithcalling for applications for the position of IAPSS Delegations Coordinator.

The Delegations Coordinator is a position within the IAPSS Academic Department and encompasses responsibility for various tasks related to the delegations, sections and panels convened under the aegis of IAPSS at international conferences (e.g. IPSA World Congress, APSA Annual Meeting, ISA Annual Convention, ECPR General Conference, as well as other conferences).

The main tasks will include:

developing and drafting section and panel themes;
preparing and launching calls for papers;
evaluating and selecting applicants and submissions;
communicating promptly with partnering / hosting institutions, applicants and colleagues on all academic, logistical and administrative matters related to the realization of IAPSS Delegations;
taking care of logistical arrangements for presenters, chairs and discussants;
administrating IAPSS sections and panels on online platforms (e.g. MyIPSA, MyISA, MyECPR et al.)
researching international conferences which might be of interest from the standpoint of IAPSS Delegations.
The position requires:

dedication to the job;
strong organizational skills;
group coordination and relational skills;
an excellent command of the English language;
a high degree of autonomy;
a professional level of communication;
efficient time management;
the capacity to meet deadlines;
a developed interest for academic affairs, esp. related to political science, international relations and related subfields and disciplines
Previous participations at international conferences as a panelist is advantageous, but not mandatory. The position is – as all other positions within IAPSS – voluntary and unpaid, and extends until the end of the upcoming legislative mandate of the Association (May 31, 2016).

Participation and Expenses

Costs and expenses related to the execution of the position (e.g. participation in an IAPSS panel and/or section at an international partner conference, travel, accommodation, public transport) are fully covered by IAPSS. Participation in the board meetings connected to IAPSS' two bi-annual conferences (the IAPSS World Congress, the IAPSS Autumn Convention) is strongly encouraged and all related costs are covered.

IAPSS Membership

In order to occupy the position you must be an IAPSS member. If this is not already the case you will be asked to apply for IAPSS Membership in case of your appointment.
