During the next years WV’s projects have gone beyond meeting the demands ofcrisis situations to changing the quality of life in entire communities and helping Armenians to restoretheir country.World Vision Armenia works in 256 communities in six marzes of Armenia and in Yerevan supporting34,126 children and their families. The Organization fulfills advocacy, health care, education, economicdevelopment, child protection and spiritual growth activities.WV Armenia operates mainly through its 10-15 years long-term Area Development Programs (ADP) thatare predominantly funded through child sponsorship. ADPs are focused on promoting child well beingthrough community participation and ownership. LOCATIONc. Yerevan, Armenia DURATIONFixed term, up to 30 September, 2019 PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONWithin WV Armenia’s “Caring for Equality” project, the Media Relations Coordinator woulddevelop and design an extensive media campaign strategy and implement it to targetgender equality and Prenatal Sex Selection (PSS) issues in particular both at local andnational levels in Armenia. Based on the strategy, journalists and editors of news andadvertisement agencies will be trained on proper gender equitable messaging and PSS,campaigns will be organized with involvement of celebrities around the mentioned topicsand visual materials developed showcasing positive gender role models especially targetingmen and young adults. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESI. Strategizing & policy changea. Design and review a media campaign strategy and an action plan to be implementedwith WV Armenia’s Caring for Equality (C4E) Project.b. Ensure that adopted media strategy is implemented throughout the regions where C4Eproject is being implemented and beyond. c. Be responsible for overall media coverage of C4E projects. Provide Public Relations &visibility support during the organization of public events.d. Establish and maintain constant and positive professional contact with key print, radioand TV media, and liaise upon necessity to engage them in project related activities. e. Be committed to work closely with Armenian Apostolic Church throughout implementation of the C4E project. II. Digital and social media, online platforms a. Establish and maintain digital and social media presences that support project goals. b. Work out new approaches on digital and social media and other on-line platforms. III. Positioning for visibility a. In line with WV and project strategy develop and implement visibility policy considering local viewpoints, experience and taste. b. Provide advice to project and ADPs and relevant departments on matters related to Project PR & visibility.
