The Laboratory for Web and Information Technologies at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, ULB, Belgium, is recruiting a post-doctoral researcher / temporary assistant professor. We are looking for a highly qualified researcher in Data Mining and Data Management (or related areas). The successful candidate will be expected to: 1] strenghten the lab's research expertise in data mining and management; partake in the lab's ongoing research projects, as well as develop his/her new lines of research related to Big Data, Data Mining, Data Management, and Business Intelligence; 2] become titular of the course "Business Process Management" (a course that introduces basic concepts for modelling and implementing business processes using contemporary information technologies), and ensure both the theory lectures of this course, and its exercises; 3] help in the organization of the lab's other teaching activities; and 4] help in the coordination of the EU-funded Erasmus Mundus Master and Doctoral Programmes on Information Technologies for Business Intelligence, which are headed by lab. Whilst the positions are primarily open to database and data mining researchers with a promising publication record, all applicants who have a PhD in computer science or closely related field will be considered. Candidates must have strong analytical and programming skills, a good command of the English language, and a genuine interest in designing, building and publishing innovative approaches and systems for data management. The position is available from September 2016 for one year, renewable for another year.
