In 2015, UNSW Australia entered into a wide-ranging consultation with staff, our students, alumni and partners to capture ideas and aspirations for our 10 year strategy. The response was exciting and gratifying, with lively discussion and debate, as well as the submission of many thousands of ideas and comments.

All of these aspirations were captured in the UNSW 2025 Strategy which sets out an innovative, ambitious and altruistic agenda, reflecting a conviction across our University to achieve great things during the next decade.

People are at the heart of this strategy.

UNSW is already at the cutting edge of academia with a strong and growing international reputation. A global leader in discovery, innovation, impact, education and thought leadership, can make an enormous differences to the lives of people in Australia and around the world.

The announcement of our largest-ever academic recruitment initiative is a key step in augmenting our existing world-leading research capabilities.

Over the next four years, we will recruit more than 600 additional new researcher positions across all faculties and all levels of the university. This will comprise:

Up to 130 new world leading researchers and rising stars and
500 new PhD scholars.
