Salary: £37,768 to £46,414 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Professor (permanent) in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. The School specifically seeks to appoint an individual with a track record, or demonstrable potential, of teaching and research excellence in International Relations. Applications from all areas of the sub-discipline are welcome, although it is a requirement that the successful candidate can teach quantitative methods in international relations. Candidates should have completed, or nearly-completed, a PhD.

The candidate appointed will be expected to contribute to the research and teaching of the School, which is one of the fastest growing and most cosmopolitan in the UK. The School comprises around 40 full faculty and is home to a number of centres and institutes, including the Institute for Asia and Pacific Studies (IAPS), the Centre for the Study of Social and Global Justice (CSSGJ), the Nottingham Interdisciplinary Centre for Research in Economics and Politics (NICEP), the Centre for Normative Political Theory (CONCEPT), the Centre for Study of Political Ideologies (CSPI), the Centre for British Politics (CBP), the Centre for Conflict, Security and Terrorism (CST), the Methods and Data Institute (MDI).

In addition, the candidate appointed will be expected to contribute to the teaching of core modules offered by the School at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as supervise student dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and contribute to the administration of the School. Duties will be commensurate with the level of appointment.
